Kiwi Jintao

The World's No. 1 Yellow Kiwi

The Jintao variety, a natural selection of Actinidia Chinensis, is a special kiwi variety developed in collaboration with the University of Udine. The commercial name of the cultivar is Jintao, which literally means: golden fruit.


PLANT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Chilling requirement: Medium, lower than Hayward.
  • Vigor: Lower than Hayward, with short internodes.
  • Budbreak: A few days earlier than Hayward; budburst rate: 80-90%.
  • Flowering period: One week earlier than Hayward.
  • Crop load: Medium-high.
  • Harvest period: 2 weeks earlier than Hayward.

FRUIT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Flesh color: Yellow.
  • External appearance: Regular cylindrical shape, hazelnut-colored skin, hairless (glabrous). Free from double, twin, or misshapen/flat fruits.
  • Size: Medium (approximately 80g to 130g).
  • Organoleptic properties: The high sugar content and balanced acidity (-25% compared to green kiwi) give it a sweet and aromatic flavor.
  • Nutraceutical properties: High Vitamin C content (on average +145% compared to green kiwi), polyphenols (+80%), and potassium.
  • Shelf life: Thanks also to the remarkable firmness of the skin, it can be stored in the refrigerator for over 6 months.

Kiwi Jinyan

The Superior-Sized Yellow Kiwi

The Jinyan variety is a natural cross between Actinidia eriantha and Actinidia chinensis, giving rise to a large-sized yellow-fleshed kiwi.


PLANT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Chilling requirement: Low, lower than Jintao.
  • Vigor: High, with internodes of 5-10 cm.
  • Budbreak: About one week earlier than Hayward.
  • Flowering period: About 10 days earlier than Hayward.
  • Crop load: High.
  • Harvest period: Similar to Hayward.

FRUIT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Flesh color: Bright yellow.
  • External appearance: Cylindrical shape, hairless (glabrous) skin.
  • Size: Medium to large (larger than Hayward).
  • Organoleptic properties: Tender and juicy flesh, sweet and aromatic flavor.
  • Nutraceutical properties: High Vitamin C content (on average +60% compared to Hayward), Potassium (+45%), and Calcium (+30%).
  • Shelf life: Very good, up to 8 months under controlled temperature and atmosphere conditions.

Kiwi Oriental Red®

Il primo kiwi rosso altamente conservabile

The Oriental Red® variety is the result of a study and improvement process of red kiwi varieties existing in nature. It is characterized by a golden-yellow flesh streaked with bright red veins and a pleasant exotic aroma.


PLANT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Chilling requirement: Low, lower than Jintao.
  • Vigor: Medium-high, with single fruits accounting for over 80%.
  • Budbreak: 10 to 15 days earlier than Hayward.
  • Flowering period: About 15 days earlier than Hayward; flowering duration: 6-7 days; budburst rate: over 70%.
  • Crop load: High.
  • Harvest period: 1 month earlier than Hayward.

FRUIT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Flesh color: Golden-yellow outer flesh (exocarp), bright red inner flesh (endocarp).
  • External appearance: Cylindrical shape, thick and hairless (glabrous) skin.
  • Size: Medium (approximately 80-90 grams).
  • Organoleptic properties: High dry matter content and high sugar level, with a sweet and intense flavor.
  • Nutraceutical properties: High Vitamin C content (120 – 150 mg/100g).
  • Shelf life: Excellent shelf life, lasting over 5 months in the refrigerator.

Kiwi Jingold Plus

Il kiwi verde ad alto contenuto di vitamina C

La varietà Jingold Plus rappresenta il kiwi verde più buono da mangiare e con un alto contenuto di vitamina C. Si caratterizza per una polpa verde intensa, succosa e dolce e deriva dal miglioramento di una varietà pre-esistente.


PLANT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Vigoria alta, foglie spesse, produzione elevata.
  • Germogliamento: come Hayward.
  • Epoca di fioritura: come Hayward.
  • Epoca di raccolta: come Hayward.
  • Adattabilità: più tollerante di Hayward a basse temperature, umidità e ai principali patogeni dell’Actinidia.

FRUIT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Colore della polpa: verde scuro.
  • Aspetto esteriore: forma ellittica, leggermente irregolare.
  • Calibro: elevato (peso medio 100g).
  • Caratteristiche organolettiche: qualità gustative molto elevate, polpa dolce e succosa.
  • Proprietà nutraceutiche: elevato contenuto di Vitamina C (oltre 200mg/100g, circa il doppio di un kiwi Hayward).
  • Conservabilità: molto buona.

Kiwi Boerica

The Italian Green Kiwi of Excellence

The Boerica variety represents the premier Italian green kiwi. In terms of genetic origin, it is characterized by being a natural mutation of Hayward.


PLANT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Vigor and productivity: Similar to Hayward.
  • Production efficiency: Lower production of lateral fruits, resulting in a reduced occurrence of "triple" and misshapen fruits.
  • Budbreak: Same as Hayward.
  • Flowering period: Same as Hayward. Harvest period: Same as Hayward.

FRUIT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Flesh: Intermediate green color and high firmness.
  • External appearance: Cylindrical and elongated (more so than Hayward) with a length-to-diameter ratio of 1.44 (compared to 1.26 for Hayward).
  • Size: Large (average weight over 100g).
  • Organoleptic properties: High taste quality, sweet and juicy flesh.
  • Nutraceutical properties: High Vitamin C content.
  • Shelf life: Good.
